    Impressions of the Sonja 1.3

Good female vocal well done makes me think they would do well with cello and violin as well. What were his and your sound tracks?

What is your favorite tube type?

I did not know Arnie passed away, a great loss to the hobby. I read this article, still enjoying the 1970 download in it. https://www.psaudio.com/article/arnie-nudell-rip/ From 2018 the last speakers (I think). https://positive-feedback.com/industry-news/ps-audio-2/ Back on topic: what I...

What is your favorite tube type?

I had to look those two preamps up, nice stuff. Shows how out of the loop I am, as I still thought of PS Audio as a power line conditioner company. Honestly had no clue they got into tubes. Yep, the smaller tubes of preamps warm up pretty quickly. I do not leave my equipment on, as it...

    I might be crazy

UPDATE: Stereo still not hooked up. I built a table, a small dock and assembled a lot of furniture/shelves. I'm going to have to visit a dealer to hear some tunes soon. Meanwhile, a two hour kayak trip up and down the river helps.

What is your favorite tube type?

My exposure to tube amps is almost all EL34's. However, I have heard other tubes such as the KT88 and one 300b. In short, the EL34's personality fits between the two. KT88's being powerful, 300b's being nunanced. A more important aspect might be how long of a warm up time is required to get...

    High value, giant killer speakers?

Was it three years ago Magnapan came out with new speakers at the $1,500 price point with optional planar bass unit? I thought WOW, these are giant killers, and mini monitor killers too.

    I might be crazy

Nope, older people like myself like the peace and quite. Kitchen window opens to the deck, we can always pump in music from there (above refigerator stereo system) at moderate volumes if need be. Different world going from being 30 to 60 years old. Keep off my grass and all that- haha.

    I might be crazy

Moved into new house, and have some sanity left. Stereo and HT not hooked up yet, it will be a while as we are living out of boxes. I have mastered the 3 minute egg and steamed potatoes and lost 10 pounds from the move but have more gray hair. Life is good on the river, and the 32' X 12'...

    Thanks for the invite

Thank you for the run down, nothing beats human ears for testing in my opinion. B&O RL (red lines) that I have I think are some kind of ABS plastic enclosure and that limits earth shattering volumes. B&W Blue-Room speakers (snowmanish) were fiberglass when they first came out were amazing but...

    Thanks for the invite

I went to your website, and read about rigid composites with superior damping properties as compared to MDF and wood. No argument from me, but would like to hear about the development process of testing various materials and how the tone or lack of tone via damping came about. For instance...

    I might be crazy

I am moving after 26 years in one house. Home theater and two channel stereo in same room but sperate systems. I just pulled all the interconnects without documenting a thing, not even a photo to guide me. Why did I do that? I know better. We have to be out in four days, I'm just tossing...

What are the 3 best speakers you've ever heard?

No, I've not heard those brands nor other brands that are hybrids with horns, electrostatic or EMIT upper ranges. All I've heard is Hawthorne Audio at a few of the Audio Karma Audiofest shows over 5 years ago along with some of the open baffle DIY projects featured at the show. I think that in...
